About
The original Crystal Palace model was created in 2001 as a component of Michael Levenson’s research project Monuments and Dust: The Culture of Victorian London. At the time, the 3D model created by Chris Jessee and Will Rourk was at the forefront of what was possible with computers and 3D digital rendering software. Over the past 20 years, computer processing has exponentially expanded possibilities, and what were once cutting edge technologies are mostly obsolete. A render that once required a supercomputer to process can now be completed on your average laptop.
In 2019, Chris Jessee migrated the original Crystal Palace model from FormZ into 3ds Max.
